The Out of the Box Max V Development Board is designed to be a platform for teaching the basics of digital electronics. Using the CPLD, students can learn how to use gates, the building blocks of all digital circuits. The platform features a 570 logic element MAX V CPLD, USB connectivity and external flash memory. Out of the Box provides software for writing the flash memory using the USB interface, as well as VHDL/BDF objects to read from the flash memory.

The Out of the Box Max V Development Board is currently used by the University of Florida’s Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering to teach EEL3701C Digital Logic & Computer Systems.
